Craft Festival, Demonstrations, and Antiques

The Wise Business Association will host the 39th Annual Wise County Famous Fall Fling in historic downtown Wise, Virginia, October 14-15, 2017.  The Fall Fling features bluegrass, country, and gospel music, and celebrates authentic Appalachian arts and crafts with well over 135 vendors. You will find wood, pottery, art, photography, candles, antiques, Native American crafts, traditional Appalachian crafts, gold panning, and much, much more. Also, on Saturday and Sunday visit with demonstrators Bill Dotten, Ganell Marshall, and Chuck Miller.  We will have demonstrations of wood carving, black smithing, basket making, and pottery throwing.

NCH Heart-One Cardiac Rehab 5K Race & One Mile Fitness Walk   Saturday, Oct. 14.

NCH Rehab’s My Run, Walk & Roll     Saturday, Oct. 14.

NCH Rehab’s My Run, Walk and Roll is an event for physically challenged (or just out of shape!) individuals of all ages that will take place alongside the Heart-One Cardiac Rehab 5K Run at the Wise Fall Fling. If needed, participants in the NCH My Run, Walk and Roll Challenge will be able to use walkers, wheelchairs or other mobile devices to assist in their navigation of the 250 yards, 1/3 , 2/3 or 1 mile flat course. To ensure safety of all participants, there will be volunteers along the route to assist as needed. Participants who require help with their mobility will need a personal caregiver with them during the challenge to further ensure safety throughout the event. This event is not a race! It’s an individual challenge! Registered participants will be given an award for their efforts. The “finish line” is determined by you whether its a small piece of the course or the entire mile, or beyond! Award ceremony immediately following challenge. 1st Annual Heritage Hall/Fall Fling CAR and BIKE Extravaganza    Saturday, Oct. 14.

The First Annual Heritage Hall/Fall Fling CAR and BIKE Extravaganza will be held Saturday, Oct. 14th. at the First Bank and Trust on Main Street in Wise, VA. This new event will run from 2PM until 6PM: registration will be held from 2-4PM; judging will be from 4-6 PM. There will be 9 classes judged with trophies for each class. There will be a trophy given for BEST OF SHOW. T-shirts will be also available for purchase. There will be a cruise following this event: the driving course will start at First Bank and go around Lake Street to Heritage Hall, for anyone who would like to participate. All proceeds will go to the Resident Fund at Heritage Hall Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. 4th Annual Fall Fling Corn Hole Tournament   Sunday, Oct. 15.

Register at 1 PM, Tournament at 2 PM. Beside the Glades near Stage 1 of the Wise Fall Fling, the backyard of the Hoge Masonic Lodge. $20 per Team. Winners will receive cash prize/trophy. For more information, contact Brandon Bevins at (276) 275-9702.
